May 17-18: GMHA Summer Hunter/Jumper Show   (South Woodstock, VT) 

June 13-15: Quechee Balloon Festival (Quechee, VT)
The 29th Annual Quechee Balloon Festival returns to the Quechee Polo Fields this June for a dazzling display of bright, vibrant balloons set against the morning fog and evening sunset. Watch balloons as they launch in the early morning hours, then enjoy live music, entertainment, crafts, plus food and Vermont microbrews and wine. June 26-29: Jenny Brook Bluegrass Festival  (Weston, VT)
This is a Traditional Bluegrass Festival located in the foothills of the picturesque village of Weston, Vermont. 

 

July 4: Old Vermont 4th at Billings Farm & Museum (Woodstock, VT) 
A family celebration of a 19th century July 4th. Featuring the reading of the Declaration of Independence at noon, historic debates, making 1890 flags, Presidential silhouettes, and Uncle Sam book marks. Horse-drawn wagon rides, spelling bee, ice cream making and the egg toss.

July 8-9: Republic of VT Celebration: Windsor Heritage Days (Windsor, VT)
The Official Celebration of Vermont's Independence. The independent Republic of Vermont existed from July 8, 1777-1791.  A wonderful family oriented event that entertains and educates. The Republic of Vermont Celebration features vendors, food, juried crafts, car show, motorcycle show, children's games, parades, carriage rides, antiques, living history, reenactments, historic encampments, house and museum tours and much more. Lodging package includes 2-nights lodging in mountainside suite.

July 26-27: Harpoon Championships of New England Barbecue (Windsor, VT)
Fresh beer, live music and the best barbecue around. Free tours of Harpoon Brewery in Windsor and BBQ 101 classes. Lodging package includes free shuttle to and from the event, 2-nights lodging.

August 1-3: GMHA August Horse Trials (Woodstock, VT)
The Green Mountain Horse Association Horse Trial is a 3-day event involving three distinct phases with varying degrees of difficulty. This event portrays the ability, versatility and preparedness of the horse and rider.

August 23: 36th Annual Scottish Festival & Highland Games (Quechee, VT)
Festival includes highland games, 4 pipe bands, 100 highland dancers, a piping competition, sheepdog trials, athletic events, Scottish and American foods and vendors of Scottish products.

September 28: Vermont 50 Mountain Bike Race (Ascutney Mountain Resort)
Every year, Ascutney is host to this grueling mountain bike race. Runners participate too. The "Vermont 50" attracts more than 3,000 participants and spectators from around the country. October 4 -5: Pumpkin & Apple Celebration at Billings Farm  (Woodstock, VT)
Hands-on activities and educational programs highlight the day. Apple and pumpkin displays, apple tasting, trivia contest, cider pressing, pruning and grafting demonstrations in the farm orchard, apple scavenger hunt, pumpkin races, apples-on-a-string, pumpkin ice cream, cooking apple butter in the farmhouse, and cornhusk dolls. Take home a Jack-Be-Little miniature pumpkin or gourd, and enjoy horse drawn wagon rides.
 

October 11–12: 26th Annual Vermont Apple Festival & Craft Show (Springfield, VT)
A celebration of the apple harvest featuring hand made Vermont crafts. Features over 50 crafters selling their goods. Apple pie contest, great food, fall decorations, a large variety of hand made crafts to purchase.

October 12-14: Shades of Fall Arts, Crafts & Antique Show (Ascutney Mountain Resort)
Arts, Crafts & Antique show featuring the handiwork of local artisans put on by the West Windsor Historical Society.

October 25: Pickpockets, Rogues & Highwaymen - (Charlestown, NH)
Join us as some unseemly characters lurk about The Fort at No. 4 giving visitors a scare and making them laugh during our 18th Century All Hallows Eve Event! Visitors will encounter the darker side of the 18th Century as they mingle with assorted ne'er-do-wells of the time period. Activities include a treasure hunt for children, horse drawn wagon rides and more. Regular admission charged.

October 26: A Family Halloween at Billings Farm  (Woodstock, VT) 
A safe and wholesome celebration designed especially for young children. Doughnuts on a string, pumpkin carving for families, historic games, Halloween tales, plus horse-drawn wagon rides. Children in costume accompanied by an adult admitted free. Costume parades around the farm led by a Southdown ewe at noon and 2 pm.
